Planet eStream is a flexible modular video platform that supports multiple aspects of digital media delivery in education. As an educator, you can embed and seamlessly share Planet eStream video content with your students on the Aula platform, and this article will show you how to do that.
Attach Content
1. Click on the + icon within the editor, and hover over Integrations.
2. Select Planet eStream from the dropdown.
3. You may be required to log into Planet eStream. Once authenticated, the content block will look like this:
4. From this interface, you can search for media to embed into Aula using keywords and filters to find the right content.
5. Once you’ve found the content you’d like to embed in Aula, click on its title to bring up a preview. With the preview visible in the content block, this specific content is what others will see when they access the page or post after you save or publish.
6. Click Publish.
Note
- Licensing: There are limits to using Planet eStream for free. Check with your institution whether they have a licence.
- Mobile app behaviour: When viewing an embedded Planet eStream video in the Aula mobile app, the video opens in a new browser window. This is expected behaviour due to the LTI (Learning Tools Interoperability) integration. On desktop, the video plays inline within Aula.
- Migrated videos: If Planet eStream videos have been migrated from another space, some users may be unable to access them. If this happens, delete the embedded video and add it again. As a best practice, we recommend deleting and re-adding Planet eStream videos before launching a new space.
