There are some scenarios where it makes sense to disable an integration in Aula:
- The integration has been configured in Aula but you are waiting on a tool vendor to complete the configuration on their end,
- The integration is temporarily unavailable for some reason,
- Your institution is phasing out a particular tool.
This article explains how to disable a third-party tool.

How to Disable an Integration in Aula
- Navigate to the administration dashboard for your institution. The URL should be https://admin.{your-institution}.aula.education
- Open the menu at the top left and select Integrations. You will see the list of integrations that are available for your institution
- Hover your mouse over the different integrations and the Remove icon will appear. Click on it
- A pop-up window will appear, asking if you are sure you want to permanently remove the integration. Check the box labelled 'I understand that removing is permanent' and then click the Remove button
Note
Integrations added by Aula, such as Turnitin, cannot be disabled
Impact of Disabling a Materials Integration
Disabling a Materials integration means that it will no longer appear in the Integrations menu within the Aula editor. Blocks that already exist within posts and materials will appear with a warning message indicating that the integration has been disabled, and clicking on the blocks will no longer launch the tool.
Impact of Disabling an Assignments Integration
Disabling an Assignments integration means that it will no longer appear as an option when creating a new assignment. Existing assignments from this tool will appear with a warning, and the option to open the assignment in the tool will no longer be available.
Note
You can re-enable a disabled integration at any time. If you need to modify the configuration of one of these please raise a support ticket with Aula at support@aula.ac.uk
