To export grades from the Student Success App to the Student Records system, you will first need to map assignments to an assessment item. After mapping the assignments, you will be able to export grades from the Student Success App to the Student Records system.
Map an Assignment to an Assessment Item
Before you can export grades to your Student Records system, you need to associate or map the relevant assignment/s to the correct assessment item.
Ideally, you have already done this towards the start of the semester so that students get visibility of which assignments are formative vs. summative and how those summative grades are calculated.
However, if you haven’t already done this, you can do it afterward. Follow these instructions:
- Head to Journey > Assignments.
- Click on Student Success App.
- Click on the title of an assessment item.
- Select from the drop-down menu which assignment will compose the final grade.
- Click Save. Now you can click on the assessment item to view which assignment has been mapped to it.
Map Multiple Assignments to an Assessment Item
If you need to map more than one assignment to an assessment item, follow these instructions:
- Head to Journey > Assignments.
- Click on Student Success App.
- Click on the title of an assessment item.
- Select from the drop-down menu an assignment.
- Click the Add an assignment button and select another assignment (if needed, repeat this step).
- The final grade will be composed of the assignments you selected, so you will need to weigh each assignment by adding a percentage.
- Click Save. Now you can click on the assessment item to view which assignments have been mapped to it.
Note
- We recommend that you set up the mapping at the beginning of semester to make it clear to students which assignments count towards their final grade for the course, and which are formative only.
- Some of the features mentioned in this article might not be available on your institution’s Aula account. To find out more, please contact your university directly.
- Students who are the subject of a pending academic misconduct case should be excluded from any exports until the case has been considered.
