Features are a part of quiz Items that can be used to add supporting materials and tools to give context and assist with Questions. Below, you can learn more about the different available features and how you can use these in your quizzes:

Find Feature Types
The Feature Types described in this article can be found when you are creating a new item.

1. When you're editing a quiz, click on + Create new item.
2. Click on the purple Add new button.
3. Click on Features on the upper left-hand side.
4. Select the feature you'd like to use in your item.
Protractor

The Protractor feature will appear as a button to the student, that when clicked will display the tool. You have the ability to change the label for either and set up Image alternative text.
Show rotate icon is enabled by default - this is the yellow arrow icon indicating to the student that the tool can be rotated.
Ruler

Like the Protractor feature, the Ruler feature will also appear as a button to the student, that when clicked will display the tool. You have the ability to change the label for either and set up Image alternative text.

Imagetool

The Imagetool feature gives the option to use provided rulers and protractors as part of a question stimulus, or to add your own images as features that can be dragged and rotated by students when taking the quiz.

Note
DPI refers to dots per inch and is a setting you can choose when exporting images from many graphics design software applications. Make sure to test the ruler against the image you upload to make sure the ruler matches your image.

Scientific Calculator

On the Item, the Scientific Calculator feature will appear as a button. Clicking it once will show the Calculator, and clicking it a second time will hide the Calculator. The Calculator can also be dragged around the Item by the student.

Audio Player
With the Audio Player feature, you can embed various audio player types and customize the UI. Audio files can be uploaded in MP3 format and must be less than 5MB. It is also possible to use audio hosted on the Internet.
- Player types:
- Playback Limit: The number of times the student is allowed to play the audio, 0 is unlimited.
- Heading: Heading of the audio player.
- Caption: Description of the audio being played.
Passage
The Passage feature allows educators to create and format long text passages, and then add these passages to items. Passages can also be shared across items. This supports HTML formatted data and includes font styling, paragraph styling, layout templating, embedded images, LaTeX and MathML.

With the Passage feature, there are a lot of different formatting options, including the options to add images and tables.
Video Player

With the Video Player feature, educators can embed videos hosted on the Internet or upload videos from a computer. Video clips can be uploaded in MP4 (H.264/MPEG-4) and must be less than 100MB in size.

Video type - select the type of video you want to use.
- Hosted Video - default video type, which will automatically detect if the provided Source URL is Youtube, Vimeo, or a normal video link.
- Youtube - embed Youtube video.
- Vimeo - embed Vimeo video.
- Brightcove - embed Brightcove single video or player.
- Heading - Heading of the video player.
- Caption - Description of the video being played.
Line Reader

The Line Reader feature is a tool that allows students to focus on one line at a time. On the Item, the Line Reader will appear as a button. Clicking it once will show the Line Reader, and clicking it a second time will hide the Line Reader. With the Line Reader, students can:
- Drag it around the screen,
- Resize it,
- Resize the focus area.
