In Aula, it's possible to export grades into a CSV file that you can later use externally. If enabled on your institution's Aula account, you may also be able to export the grades directly to your university's Student Record System. This article details both options.
Export Grades from Assignments to CSV File
You can export grades to a CSV file from Aula's Assignments tab, Handin, or Turnitin.
- Head to Journey > Assignments.
- Locate the relevant assignment and click on the three dots symbol in the top right.
- Select Export Grades from a dropdown. A CSV file will be downloaded to your local drive.
The generated CSV file will include each student's name, email address, student ID (if available), and a grade.
- Open a relevant Handin assignment.
- Click on the three dots symbol in the top right.
- Select Export Grades from a dropdown. A CSV file will be downloaded to your local drive.

The generated CSV file will include each student's name, email address, student ID (if available), and a grade.
- Open the relevant Turnitin assignment.
- Click on the Download All option in the top right.
- Select:
- Grade Report to get a detailed report (inclusive of student's details, submission title, upload date, word count, similarity score) of grades in the XLS format, or
- GradeMark PDFs to export submissions (in zip file) with appended grades and feedback.
- Open the relevant Quiz assignment.
- Click on the three dots in the top right.
- Export grades.
Export Grades to the Student Record System
If your institution's Aula account is connected to the university Student Record System (SRS), you'll be able to export grades directly to SRS using the Student Success App.
- As a first step, you'll need to make sure that you've mapped the assignments to assessment components, all assessments have been graded, and all grades have been released to students.
- Head to Journey > Assignments > Student Success App.
- Click on the Export button next to the relevant assessment item(s).
- Once the export begins, the status will change to Exporting.
- The export process can take some time. You can leave the browser open or navigate away and come back to it later.
