This article details how to grade a Turnitin assignment and provide feedback to students.
Grade Assignment
Once you've reviewed an assignment, you can grade it.
- Head to Journey > Assignments.
- Locate your assignment and click on it.
- Click on the Open in Turnitin button at the top right corner. The Turnitin page will open on a new tab and you will see the list of students who submitted the assignment.
- Click on the Paper Title next to the student's name. A new tab will open with the student's submission.
- Allocate a grade at the top right corner. The grade will be automatically saved.
Provide Feedback
You can access the feedback area of submission by following these steps:
- Head to Journey > Assignments.
- Locate your assignment and click on it.
- Click on the Open in Turnitin button at the top right corner. The Turnitin page will open on a new tab and you will see the list of students who submitted the assignment.
- Click on the Paper Title next to the student's name. A new tab will open with the student's submission.
- Head to the pencil and paper icon in the right corner.

In Turnitin Feedback Studio, your feedback can be:
- A Text Comment,
- A link to an external source,
- A Voice Comment.
Text Comment
- Head to the pencil and paper icon in the right corner.
- Click on the white area under the Text Comment banner.
- Start typing your feedback.

Link to External Source
- Head to the pencil and paper icon in the right corner.
- Click on the white area under the Text Comment banner.
- Click on the hyperlink icon.

Voice Comment
- Head to the pencil and paper icon in the right corner.
- Click the circle icon under the Voice Comment banner to start recording. When you do this for the first time, a pop-up appears saying that you need to allow the Turnitin page to use your microphone. Click Allow.
- Click on the square icon to stop the recording.
